Panoramic Views
If you’re traveling in the Rangeley region of the state, be sure to stop at Height of Land. This roadside rest stop overlooks Mooselookmeguntic Lake and the valley. You’ll have the best view of the Rangeley Lakes Region and surrounding mountains, too. The Appalachian Trail passes close by this roadside stop. The scenic vantage point is especially beautiful when the fall colors arrive. The scenic overlook is located on the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway.
About Height of Land
There is plenty of parking at this roadside stop, which is just off Route 17 in Township D. It is about 25 minutes south of the town of Rangeley. While you’re in the area don’t forget to check out Coos Canyon, just 14 minutes south on Route 17.
