2018 Harris Station Turbine Test Water Release Dates on the Kennebec River
Mark your calendars! Here are the high water release dates for the 2018 whitewater rafting/paddling season from Harris Station on the Kennebec River. All releases from Harris Station stop at 1 pm. From May 1st through Columbus day the daily release will be a minimum of 4,800 cfs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. From June 15th through September 15th, the minimum release will be 2,400 cfs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
High water releases are almost double the Kennebec River’s usual dam release volume! On these days the Kennebec River offers high-adventure whitewater paddling opportunities with exciting class III-IV rapids and non-stop action! With only four dates each year rafting trips fill up fast, so book early!
