Encompassing 209,644 acres Baxter State Park contains it’s own mountain range of over 40 peaks and ridges including “mile-high” Mt. Katahdin. Managed by Baxter State Park Authority, the park hosts many incredible outdoor adventures unique to the region. There are over 220 miles of hiking trails from relaxed day hikes to challenging mountain climbs. Please note bicycling and snowmobiling are restricted to all roads in Baxter State Park, but are not permitted on trails.
