This video was recorded on top of a “floating rock,” includes a distant calling loon, and some big wave action at the end of the recording as a boat passes by!
This was a wicked fun video to make with some unexpected surprises. When I first set up my camera on a rock sitting in the water I didn’t realize I had set up on a “floating rock,” which is simply a huge flat rock balancing on top of another rock in the water. Whenever a medium or better sized wave came through the rock would, well, rock! It was really cool. This is also the first time I’ve recorded a loon calling! Now to video the actual loon!
I never know what I’m going to record when I set up my camera- all I know is that I’m capturing a beautiful moment in Maine and preserving it forever!
